Our journey in the production of Silica Sand, a crucial raw material for the Turkish industry, began in 1980 through a partnership of 22 foundry producers, including significant companies under the leadership of the 8th President of Turkey, Turgut ÖZAL, who actively supported the initiative and chaired the Turkey Foundry Industry Association.
As of its establishment, Kumsan, with a history spanning over 42 years, proudly asserts its recognition as a reputable silica sand producer and is highly valued. Aligning with its founding purpose, Kumsan has focused on silica sand production for the foundry sector, combining high-quality raw material deposits with modern and efficient processing technology, all the while emphasizing current and sustainable ecological balance.
The production journey, starting at 10,000 tons annually, has approached 400,000 tons by 2007, with continuous self-renewal in terms of quantity and quality in response to the rapidly evolving needs and growth of the sector. This progress also includes the commissioning of a drying facility in 2007.
